I think I shall continue the story?

So, some time (about 15-16 years) passed since Dae was deprived of his power and since his worshippers were somewhat united... During that time Dae was trying to return the power at least by means of artifacts, and even quite succeeded in it, with some help from Alcar & Co., who proved to be quite inventive about those artifacts (the elves – Alcar's friends I've mentioned before - used some artifacts too to become more or less equal to Dae (in his original state!) and Alcar, so they had some experience. And here I need to remark that the artifacts, created with Alcar's help, contained the wight-like energy and therefore the elves began to gain some features of the said race).

Thus they lived till the year 345 when some very powerful wights intruded Arda again. It all began with Eru's younger son, Seyore, who was sent to supervise Manwe's rule (the king was becoming too rash in his actions…). But when the Doors of night were opened, Eng'Lliss, the queen of wights, sneaked in too. Aivare followed her – and Telron followed them both, trying to hamper their actions (that's what he was doing all the time in the Void, with more or less success). In Arda Eng'Lliss and Aivare went separate ways and Aivare disappeared of sight rather effectively for a year or two, while Telron was trying to drive his mother away. In his attempts to do so he encountered Daenar, Alcar and the other 5 elves-would-be-wights. From would-be they were turned into real wights then (there was a complicated operation with replacing their own blood with Telron's, so since then these 5 elves were considered his sons). Not without some rivalry they united their efforts and Eng'Lliss was nearly killed but she fled…

Soon after that the Valar and "our" wights began having visions. These visions were awful for both sides and contained images of violent fights, of nearly destroyed Arda, of Eru being killed or badly wounded… and of the Valar being replaced by the wights ("our" ones), while Aivare was meant to replace Eru. At first the Valar thought these were real intentions of the wights, but  then it turned out they had nothing to do with the visions besides sharing them – and being equally shocked and worried.

Aivare was still nowhere to be seen, but some events revealed his presence – and some evil intentions. He seemed to be trying to harm or kill the Valar really, though not himself but with the help of the assassins (who were not very eager to work for him though, having decided that the rule of Eru and the Valar is better than Aivare's). Still they could not do much to hamper him also, because he was clever enough not to reveal much.

The world was clearly in danger and on the edge of a war that could end in another Dagor Dagorrath. And in such times – quite in time! - Telron decided to create a maia, Lirulin… (sometimes tough warriors act bizarre…), but he left him underdone, to finish the creation after the victory; but the spirit of Arda finished the creation in its own way somewhat possessing the newly-made maia. Telron, busy with preparations to the war, could not pay enough attention to him, so Lin ran away to Valinor and settled there. Arien, who met him there, took pity on him and asked her brother to accept the boy as his disciple – and Tulkas agreed. (by that time Arien already guessed that Telron was Tulkas's son, thought such news was certainly unpleasant for Tulkas. Still he could not blame the maia for being created by a wight and cared for Lin as a grandfather should =))

After some more time it became clear that the visions were send by the spirit of Arda, who was thus hinting on the way to save the Valar from death through faking this death. First "our" wights let Aivare catch them and assured him that they were eager to be his allies. HE did not quite believe them – or did not believe at all, but to make the "game" more entertaining he allowed them to tell lies further. Then they flew to Valinor (without Aivare of course) and pretend they had devoured the Valar's souls, but actually Lirulin just took the power from the Valar and passed to the wights. Telron became the King of Arda, just as it was shown in the visions. And the Valar, pretending to be simple elven refugees sailed to Endore…

At first the elves of Valinor reacted very predictably – with hatred and despair, accompanied by several attempts to kill the wights that had to live in Valinor now. But after Lin restored the Trees of Light (not Lin himself but the spirit of Arda) and after some time passed and no further harm was done by the wights (and after some explanations as well), the elves "became more loyal" and stopped attacking the wights at every chance.

Thus about a year passed, with wights holding control over the elements to prevent Aivare from fully using them. There were also some minor events and plots during their short rule, but I won't mention them all now.

The inhabitants of Endore however were not so well informed about the real state of things and cursed equally Aivare and his "minions" (a.k.a. vice-Valar) and due to lots of despair decided that the death in battle is better than accepting the wights' rule. Aivare didn't approve of it and attacked the elven settlements in Beleriand (yes, some Noldor returned there). The elves had nothing to do but die in dozens and call out to the Valar who could not hear them; but instead "our" wights heard and counter-attacked Aivare. The spirit of Arda was also displeased by Aivare's behaviour and made Lin fight Aivare without any second thought of precautions. In the fight both Lin and Aivare were deadly wounded, and the rest of the wights decided to carry Aivare far away from any settlements and finish him somewhere… They did so, but in the last moment Eru – the Almighty at least about anything inside Arda – teleported Aivare away and thus saved him. Neither Lin, who was lying unconscious, nor the rest of the wights who were thrown far away by the impact from teleportation, suspected anything…

Then… then there was peace. By Eru's will, as a compensation for everything, Lin was healed, the power was returned to the Valar and the wights decided to leave Arda that was still trying to hurt them from time to time. (she even wanted to get rid of them too, but actually Lin's half of the soul protested very much and the wights' lives were spared.)

The end so far – yet far from the end of the adventures… wait for more in the next issue ;)
The next part of my story retelling =)

The second part [link]

The next (and last) part here [link]

And here’s the link to the family tree of the wights, with some more explanations there. Hope it’s comprehensible. ;) [link]

A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

Yes, my nick here (and in some other places) is Lin, but do not mix me as an author and Lin as a character! He was more on my mind when I registered here, but as for now I feel more lik the older wights (different, depending on the day and my mood)

Interesting, it would be cool to see this fleshed out more as a series of stories ;)
